Afternoon Lovers and Happy Valentines Day!!!
Back in November 2019, we were invited by the gorgeous Michaela of Maid With Style London> to attend her unique, stylish and exclusive wedding event, The Bridesmaids Brunch>. A wedding show, held at private members club The Ministry>, dedicated to the gorgeous women (and men) of your bridal party.
Unbeknown to Michaela, my sister in law and bride to be had just asked her best friends to be her bridesmaids so when I mentioned the show to her, she jumped at the opportunity of attending. Myself, Tammy, my Mother in Law and Tammy’s best friends all headed to London in anticipation of what Michaela, and her amazing supplier line up of bridesmaid brands, was going to offer. I have to say, we were not disappointed. The show was amazing. Genuinely amazing. From the incredible venue dressed and styled to perfection by The Stars Inside> (Valentina you rock!) to the lovely brands that were exhibiting. It was a pleasure to meet with all of the suppliers, some of which have been supporting Festival Brides for years, such as the gorgeous Elena Popa> (the photographer behind today’s images) and the Rewritten> ladies who we are huge fans of. It was also so lovely to meet with Michaela – although at that point I had been taking full advantage of the bottomless prosecco so I am not sure she got much sense out of me! We all had such a fabulous time and are already looking forward to the 2020 event!
If you would like to have a fun day out with your best friends, enjoy a yummy brunch and get to try on a wonderful selection of dresses and accessories, then we couldn’t recommend The Bridesmaid Brunch enough.
Tammy has put together a review of the event from the prospective of a bride so pour yourself a cuppa of something warm and lets delve into the event a little deeper.
Look out for the amazing Make-up in Orangeries> whose petal parlour couldn’t be more perfect for an outdoor festival style wedding. Definitely look them up – they are awesome and very different.
Enjoy lovely peeps and happy Fri-yay!

The Bridesmaid Brunch 2019
Words by Tamzin Dunstone
When the Bridesmaid Brunch was first talked about I
literally thought, ‘Why have I not thought about this before!’ How unique and
refreshing to have a day dedicated to my bridesmaids, the unsung heroes
creating my vision, listening to my ideas and (of course) my woes on wedding
planning, whilst still trying to enjoy the process!! I was so glad to have a
day planned where the focus was on them trying on the dresses instead of me.
Upon entering The Ministry I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed, private vibe. It was intimate, chic and effortlessly cool with amazing pop-art and funky contemporary warehouse furniture. This bridesmaid pop up in a private club felt quite exclusive and unlike any other wedding show I have been to. There was no hustle and bustle, no over crowded walk ways and plenty of space and time to allow us to discuss wedding plans, sip prosecco, browse the beautiful dresses and try them on, all at our leisure.
The catwalk started within the first hour of arrival and showcased various dresses from designers TH & TH>, Constellation Âme> , Rewritten>, Motee Maids>, Mia Sylvia> and may more. The backdrop of the runway was well thought out and the bright floral design and flowers kept it fresh and bridal, regardless of the horrendous rain beating down outside. There was a pleasant combination of dresses from classic sleek lines and silky material to floral casual beach dresses and to cool and stylish jumpsuits.
The designers exhibited an elegant range of dresses on the catwalk for all styles of weddings, although it would have been refreshing to see more curvaceous models wearing their dresses. Some of my bridesmaids are curvy and I would have loved to see them represented on the catwalk.
Once seeing the range of dresses on offer my bridesmaids tried on items from the collection of Constellation Âme , a lovely husband and wife company who have so much enthusiasm and passion for their collection. Although the company is in its infancy, they have designed some incredible pieces that would allow the bridesmaids to wear the dresses again. So many times bridesmaid dresses end up at the back of the wardrobe, so the fact that these pieces are designed so you can wear them again is always a bonus!! I was incredibly surprised at the affordable price of these dresses too.
Not only did we have classic designer gowns to peruse but we were also fed too! The nutrition came in the form of Eggs Florentine followed by a chocolate brownie and to quench our thirst….bottomless Prosecco! Who could ask for more!! This lunch break allowed us to discuss which designers and dresses bridesmaid preferred and the ones we wanted to visit and try on again. As many brides will know, not one dress suits all bridesmaids which is why these days are so important.
After a great girly chat and full of sustenance we got to experience the fabulous art work of Make-up Orangeries. They use fresh petals and flower heads to create cool, earthy, bohemian face art that can last up to 8 hours. It is the perfect look for a festival style wedding and I was so impressed with how quickly the petals went on and the dramatic impact it made on the face. So unique and so very different to the glitter art which we see so much of.
As we wandered around the venue each room had rails of stunning dresses with the designers close by to answer any questions and discuss materials and concepts behind their dresses. My bridesmaids were drawn to TH & TH, Motee Maids and Rewritten. As the number of invitees was limited, the girls had plenty of room to try on, admire and coo over the colours and shape. After trying 20 or more dresses we retired to the bar where discussions turned to which colours and style complemented each girl.
This day far exceeded my expectations. The venue was a great choice allowing the exhibitors plenty of room to show off their collections, as well as having changing rooms too. The freshening up area with complimentary use of straighteners and hair dryers was an added bonus too and we just loved the exclusive vibe of the venue. We were definitely made to feel like we were special from the the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
Thank you Maid With Style. My bridal party thoroughly enjoyed the day and I hope this will be the first of many bridesmaid dedicated days!!
